Our Dogs
Our Four dogs, Midge, Mollo, Manouk and Mozzie are always out and about with us. We often compete at Agility shows in Scotland and Northern England (although often suffer from Handler Error!) and have recently started working sheep with Midge, Mollo and Manouk.
Midge, our first dog, came from one of our friends who had rescued her mother from a local farm not knowing she was pregnant at the time. Midge has an amazing working drive and is obsesive about herding. She continually rounds up our two cats who tend to just ignore her and keep on doing their own thing. Midge is an unbelievably hard and stubborn dog but also has a soft vulnerable side to her nature which most people never get to see.
We got Mollo when he was about six months old from a family who didn't have the space to keep him. He had been rehomed once already but returned as he was being picked on by the other dogs in the new family. Midge & Mollo instantly took to each other and as soon as we got him home they played for hours. Mollo is far more relaxed than Midge until you let him go anywhere near agility equipment when he gets very excited and vocal.
We got our third dog, Manouk, at the end of 2006. Where Mollo is vocal around and agility ring, Manouk is very vocal around the house and often 'speaks' to you. For those of you who remember what the cat sounded like in the 'Charley Says' Public Information films from the early 70's, this will give you an idea of what living with Manouk around is like. If you can't remember, or were too young, click on the link above to take a listen!
Mozzie is the latest addition to the household. Born in September 2008, Mozzie is the result of a mating between Jo Fowler's bitch, True, and Manouk. Mozzie is quite a character and is already starting to display similarities to his dad, including his singing voice!
Like many other dog owners, we have hundreds of pictures of our dogs that have been collected over the years. Some of the more recent ones can be seen here.
