Greater Spotted Woodpecker

Over the last few months Agnes had been telling me that she had seen a Woodpecker using the bird feeders we have in the garden, but each time she tried to point it out it was no where to be seen. Finally we were able to grab a picture from the kitchen window of it taking some peanuts.


Diving in the Maldives

20111111In November 2011 Agnes & Myself spent two weeks scuba diving in the Maldives. The first week was spent on the island of Vilamendhoo on the South Ari Atoll. Vilamendhoo offers excellent accommodation and restaurants, but most importantly has a well run and friendly Dive center and an array of dive sites a short boat ride away. We still can’t understand how people spend their holiday on a sun lounger each day no matter how stunning the surroundings.

Scottish Kennel Club Agility Show, 2012

Once again this years Scottish Dog of the Year final was held during the SKC August Show at the Ingliston showground.  This years Judge, Ian Mallabar, set a fast flowing course with just enough subtle traps to catch many of the competitors out.

Moorhen and Chicks

Having a large pond in the garden means we have easy access to interesting wildlife on our door step. We have Moorhens all year round. During the Winter months we sometimes see them feeding below the bird feeders. They breed in the early spring hiding their chicks in the reeds beds around the pond.

ISDS World Sheepdog Championships

The 2011 World Sheepdog Championships were held between the 15th and 18th September at the Lowther Estate in Cumbria. Torrential rain fell during the first 2 days turning the venue into a mud bath ( a bit like Glastonbury, but for Dogs). The photographs here were taken during the semi finals on the Saturday the 17th when the rain finally stopped.
